The university has two main campuses - the Central College Campus and the Jnana Bharathi Campus. The main campus of Bangalore University named ‘Jnana Bharati' (JB) acquire around 1100 acres of land for housing postgraduate departments, Directorates, Centres of higher learning, Gandhi Bhavan, Ambedkar Bhavan, NSS Bhavan, Outdoor Stadium and other support services and the Central College campus retained as the city campus with main examination center And has the office of Registrar Evaluation, city offices of the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Finance (Examination part), Academic Staff College, Directorate of Correspondence Courses and Distance Education Centre, Directorate of College Development Council, a few postgraduate departments and support services.

Courses at post-graduate level are Masters in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Philosophy, Political Science, Rural Development, Sanskrit, Social Work, Sociology and many more.The Bangalore University Library has two wings, one in the Central College Campus which came into existence in 1858, and one at Jnana Bharathi Campus in 1966 with about 35,000 books.
